SHW Group
1. Brand Heritage
Founded in 1365 in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, SHW initially gained renown across Europe for its high-quality metal castings. For over six centuries, SHW has steadfastly upheld the artisan ethos of “Precision Born from Focus,” evolving from a traditional family-owned foundry into a global technology benchmark in high-end manufacturing.
2. Diversified Portfolio
Driven by an uncompromising pursuit of excellence in materials and processes, the SHW Group has developed five core business segments:
3. Spindle Transformation
In 2022, the Group strategically spun off its machine tool spindle business into an independent Business Unit (BU), focusing exclusively on the R&D, production, and sales of high-speed, high-power, and intelligent spindles. The new BU has partnered with more than ten European manufacturers of grinding machines, milling machines, and lathes. Its solutions—particularly for 5-axis machine tools, tool grinders, and gear grinders—have earned strong recognition from European customers.
4. China Blueprint
In 2025, SHW established its Global Spindle Headquarters in Shenzhen, China, with a plan to transform this facility into the Group’s sole global R&D and manufacturing center for machine tool spindles within 3–5 years.
• Leveraging China’s vast market scale and speed, SHW will fully transfer its German core technologies, supply chain, and quality inspection standards;
• Building a digitalized, zero-carbon “Smart & Lean Factory” to achieve end-to-end localization—from design and manufacturing to after-sales service;
• Using Shenzhen as its hub, SHW will create a global “R&D–Manufacturing–Sales–Service” network, delivering 48-hour rapid response to customers across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
5. Future Vision
SHW regards China as its “second home.” With its new Shenzhen-based company as a fresh starting point, SHW will continue to significantly increase R&D investment and collaborate with Chinese partners to co-build a high-end spindle ecosystem. Combining German precision with Chinese speed, SHW aims to power the world’s industrial mother machines—and make “SHW Inside” the preferred choice of every outstanding machine tool builder worldwide.
